Teaching Career - 2015 Teacher of the Year!

 

I began my teaching and coaching career at Homestead Senior High School in Miami Dade from 1999 to 2018. I developed a very successful Track and Field/Cross Country program in which many of my athletes earned athletic and academic scholarships to various Division 1, Division II, and NIAA Conferences. In 2006, the girls Cross Country team became the first in school history to win GMAC Championships trophy. That same year, I was nominated for Coach of the Year.

Throughout my teaching career, I have helped underprivileged students become very successful in math. I have transformed many low achievers into high achievers. I make sure that my students have fun while learning math and instill confidence that they are capable of being successful in math.  In 2015, I was the school's Teacher of the Year winner.

In 2019, I moved to North Florida and so far it has been the best decision I've ever made. I am extremely happy and proud of being at Stingray Nation!
